Can the coils and wires be swapped between the number 4 and number 5 cylinders? Since there is only one coil part number and the wires had the same resistence I did not think it would make a difference. Am I correct?

I am sure you can, but I have a question. Isn't P0305 a misfire on cylinder 5? From your info, it looks like you have a 4 cylinder C-class.

No, the 2000 C280 is a V6.

Does your engine run a little rough? I am wondering if it could be a random misfire. Anyways the coils are interchangable. Let us know whats going on.

I started another thread since now the car won't turn over. I installed new plugs and wires for the number 5 cyliner.

The battery needed a jump and now the car runs fine. I am going to change the battery since it is 7 years old. I priced an OEM and a Diehard. They are the same price. Thanks for your assistance.
