Wow, shiny. The pictures really accentuate the bumpers. Imagine what it would like with euro bumpers. But being in LA, or any other city you are at the mercy of those who do not pay attention and "bump" you in traffic.

 

Nice shine! Was that the spray on stuff?

 

I first tried their Max Remove with a clay towel as I had some stubborn water spots, marks from bird droppings and even some small swirl marks. You can dilute it based on how deep of cleaning you want. I tried full strength sprayed onto the cloth.

Then I dried the car with microfiber towels and proceed to use the MaxL One spray. Spray on and buff off with clean microfiber towels. I also used it on the windows/chrome/rubber/trim/tires. I really didn’t use a lot of product. Super easy to apply once you have a decently clean surface. Hides a lot of imperfections.

I also used it on the glass for my shower. Looks great. Even though I squeegee the glass after using the shower, I still used to wind up with mineral deposits on the glass. This helps keep it quite clean.

 

Interesting, I usually use a clay bar to clean the paint before waxing. That really leaves a very smooth finish. After that I have been using the Mcguires ceramic spray on wax.

 

Can one use a clay bar months after using the Meguires spray ceramic??? It beads up after 6+ months but the surface feels dirty/rough.

Yes, give it a wash and go over it with the clay and McGuires detailer spray, then apply a new coat of ceramic. Even though it’s hydrophobic stuff will stick to your car over time.

Truthfully, garage queens are best given a good carnuba paste wax after a clay bar treatment. The ceramic holds up better to weather and if you want it to really shine, put a coat of paste wax on top of the ceramic coat.

 

Sorry Brian. No a paste wax should not be applied over a ceramic , that is one of the great reasons , ceramic does the protecting best, that’s why it is far superior.

 

After further investigation, I concur. Best to use a ceramic top-up. With the McGuires, wash, rinse and lightly apply while still wet and dry with a micro fiber towel. Guess I have been doing it wrong, but it sure shines.

 

One way to check how clean your car is: lightly run your fingers over the finish after a wash. If it feels soft and smooth you are golden. If it feels gritty then it’s time for the clay bar.

 

Try putting your fingers in a plastic bag and then stroke your car paintwork....no grubby comments please 🤣
