Hello all!

I'm still trying to sort out my B-2 piston issue (sigh). My latest challenge is finding the transmission ser # for the proper piston replacement. I know (I think) exactly where it is supposed to be - stamped into the case on the Rt. side - just above the pan - between the B-2 piston opening and the banjo bolt for the mod. line - about 2 dozen numbers with 722.XXX in the middle to ID the trans........except it ain't there! Nice flat spot on the case that is as smooth as a baby's butt...no number. Is there some other place where I can find the trans. ID ? (As far as I know, the trans is the orig. unit) Can I tell by the VIN?

TIA
