Hi everyone. New to the forum. I have a 1999 ml320 that just started acting up. While driving at high way speeds the car looses all response of the gas peddle. I would coast for about 10 seconds and response is back. Also my check engine light just came on. To me it seems to be electrical. Other post I've read said to check the transmission electrical connector for atf. Took car to my mechanic he disconnected plug and found atf fluid in plug. Now he is telling me that to change the inner seal to prevent fluid from entering the plug the transmission would have to be dropped. Is the true? or can the inner seal be changed along with the connector and the connector seal?

The only true thing is that you need to find a mechanic who either knows what he's doing or isn't just trying to rip you off (you'll have to figure out which is true about your guy).
