I just bought 2008 S550 4matic. It has 87K miles. According to manual, transmission oil supposed be changed on 39,000 miles, but was never changed. Car is running fine and does not have any problem. I was told that if running fine - do not change, because it sometime can cause more problem to transmission. Do you have any recommendation, good or bad experience after transmission oil change.
Thanks

You should do the service if you are planing on to keep the car.
As experience ,I had a 140 before and the transmission started to slip a little bit once in a while,I changed the oil and it was smooth like before.

If you are still under warranty and want to do the transmission flush, then you should discuss with service consultant at the dealership to ensure any issues will be covered since you are not doing the flush at the recommended mileage. If your vehicle is not under warranty then you should do more research, you dont want to mess with the tranny that is known to have issues.

This is a old wifes tail about not changing the trans fluid because of fear of damaging the trans (as far as mercedes benz are concerned), if you own a early 90's chrysler then i would NOT change it. but your benz needs the trans fluid changed every 40k miles, even the previous owner was a deadbeat and never changed it for 100k, get it done before the thing really starts to give u problems
