Are you sure you don't have too much fluid in there? There should be an o-ring around the base of that cable, but quite often you snap the retainer clip when removing an old one, so it may be wise to replace the whole thing. Don't be surprised if that one is kinda expensive.

I think you just need to pull the pan. I'm not familiar with the versions having a screw up top, but I've been able to swap other types with the trans installed. It's not fun though, as there's very little room between the trans and tunnel.

Little room? Quite an euphemism ! ;)
No rush on this one, I'm going to query as much as possible.

model 201 means chassis, even though each chassis may have multiple bodystyle such as coupe, sedan, wagon, convertible, etc.

Just like in the 124 where there is W124 (sedan), S124 (wagon), A124 (ragtop).

I agree you might be able to do it by lowering the trans mount. This is how the difficult servo is replaced. All of the PDFs are on the w124 first page. So you might want to dig around through the posted mauals and pdfs. There's also the W124 Biible that I've been meaning to get. Does anyone have this--do you like it?

The fluid level shows half between the max & min (when hot).
I take note that about the cable replacement.
Thank you :)

Hi MB folks,

Does anyone know what's involved to fix this?
As you can see on the embedded pictures, the transmission pressure regulator cable seal is leaking.
Would it be a good idea to replace the cable too? (not just the seal)

Thank you :)
Franck
Still have not fixed this....
I found this thread and it looks like it's the same part, just based on pictures.
Although, on this one, we're talking about the transmission bowden/throttle valve cable seal... I'm a bit confused :(
