I can buy 190 D at low price but car has a problem... automatic tansmission will not go to 2 or 3 gear when driving. It has only reverse and 1 gear. Can anyone tell me what I can expect. Is it easy fix or not?

My 190d had the same problem. If you have more time than money the car maybe a good deal. There is a plastic gear that drives the governor in the rear of the transmission that is probably broken. I had to replace the plastic drive gear and the plastic gear on the governor. It required removing the tail shaft of the tranny and the governor. Some say this can be done with the transmission in the car, but I had to pull my transmission to get clearance for the governor to come out the side.
The gears are only $4 each from MB. Many hours of labor to remove and replace the transmission as well as skinned knuckles.
I consider my time well spent after pricing replacement transmissions.
Hope this helped.
