my car comes with such problem that it delays 1-2 seconds while upshifting and gives me a big "push" and clunks when downshifting. (90% of these happen during the transmission shifts bewteen 2nd and 3rd gears)..

and I feel the following "driving habit" will make it not that obvious:
I usually put my shifter lever at "3" if the speed limit is no more than 60km/h and push it to "D" when it raise to 80km/h or on high way. so far so good (my feeling only, not my car's maybe?..)

then here comes the new problem: I just realised that the shifter knob became very loose (it can move about 5mm in D & 3 slot). I checked other topic in the forum and most likely my car has a bad bushing..

my concern: are all these issues "inter-connected" or just happen seperately ?

Check the vacuum line off the back of the intake manifold. It may be loose, cracked, or not even connected. Had this problem a couple of weeks ago, resulting in slamming into gear between shifts, especially downshifting.

does it delay when you start the car and move it from Park to Drive or Park to Reverse? check your trans fluid. delayed shifting isn't a good sign.

it only happens when the speed of the car pass 30-50km/h (roughly the range of accelerating from 20-50km/h -- decelerating from 60-30km/h.)
