I am curious if the experienced masses here have ever had the problem of the tranny going into "limp home" mode for no reason. I am currently in the process of having the dealership change out the second sensor which supposedly gives the tranny this information. It will go into this mode just while driving around town or after going into reverse. Then if I jump in the truck the next day it may or may not be fine? This 2000 G500 is auto trans with less than 25,000 miles. Thoughts, opinions?

no idea. Maybe the folks at europa have some idea? What sensor are they changing? Keep us informed, it's always good to have the info in the back pocket. ...65k fun miles and no limping yet... though my fuel filter clogged and killed my fuel pump at about 40k... ;(

It might as well be fault not connected to the tranny. The main computer gathering all infos decides whether the tranny goes into limp mode. The computer should also provide the codes for the fault and have an answer for what went wrong.
