I have a 2012 MY C63 Coupe. Pretty standard car without performance pack for example.

Took it on track at the weekend - not really pushing that hard as far as I am concerned and it lasted maximum 3 laps each session before refusing to accelerate or change gear. Half a lap at slow speed and it recovered but not properly.

Now after reading this forum I avoided 'M' and used both S and S+ but it made no difference.

Can anybody suggest what is causing this and what maybe can be upgraded / replaced ? I dont want to take it on track every week but a couple of times a year so prefer this not to happen !

I have 2010 C63. I've only tracked my car once. I ran into a couple of real gear heads at most recent event and they strongly advised me to pop off the front grill to allow increased airflow over the radiator. Otherwise, their experience has been the car goes into limp mode which sounds like what you experienced. It's easy to do. You need a set of needle nose plyers to pry out too pins then you can pop off the grill.

This is due to TFT getting too high (trans fluid temp) which is a problem with all non BS C63s even if stock. The solution is to install a BS cooler which is roughly 3x the size and fits in non BS models. You will need the associated plumbing as well from your MB dealer.
