I have an '08 C350 sport and the TPMS really does nothing for me. During a recent service visit, I had a 2010 C300 4matic loaner and the TPMS displayed the actual pressures of the individual tires real time. I asked the Svc Adv. about an instrument cluster soft/firmware update for my '08 and he said the '08 and '10 hardware were incompatible and no update was available.

I got the feeling from the conversation that he was just feeding me a line without actually doing any research.

Anybody know anything about this topic? Am I judging the S. A. too harshly?

Thanks.

I'm afraid these features are so strictly controlled by SCN-coding that workshops are not able to change the behaviour, at least with their official methods. But you may prefer to keep on looking for a solution, like asking from one of the MB retrofit experts.

I think that feature that displays the actual tire pressures is only available for 2011 models... I too have an '08 and I just recently had a full software flash/ upgrade (ECU/TCU) and nothing has changed as far as functionality of my instrument panel.

Now I wonder if they also upgraded the TPMS receiver on the 2011 model...
