OK,

It is the real deal & you got it here 1st....:D

I ordered on Tuesday & they arrived Friday so good quick shipping.

08/23/2011 TIRE-SENSORS.COM MIAMIVILLE $166.73 (copy paste from my cc)

link Tire-Sensors.com Vehicle Search (Moderator NOTE: This link no longer works - see post #50 for more).

Keep in mind you will need to call them, as their website is not yet 100% functional for ordering, but they will gladly call back and make the order in person. Very nice people...

ALSO our W220 USES 315MHz in USA, very important or they will NOT work on your N. American W220 S class.

We need p/n SPB10B for our models 2000-2006

That is right $166.73 for ALL 4 tpms sensors & valve stems are included in box with each sensor.

Installation Soooo easy. I went to my local friendly non-chain tire shop
(Tire kingdom wanted $35 per wheel, HA HA)
and asked "how much to remove tire from rim, remount tire & balance"
$10 per tire so that was $40 in labor, but who has a tire bead breaking machine handy, so unavoidable for me.

Unscrew old valve stem with 11MM deep socket. Insert new according to instruction sheet in each box. Attach sensor with #20 star bit.
Tighten both to 4 Newton Meters with a torque wrench Done.
Remount & balance tire, fill to proper pressure, refit to car.

Reset tire monitoring system in central instrument cluster, drive about 10 miles or 20 minutes and voilÃ* all 4 corners of vehicle now showing psi in all 4 tires.

Note on OEM which were removed some were from 2004 so that is 7 year battery life, however 1 was 2006 & 1 was 2009 so there is variation on battery life.

Attached are 2 pics:
Cross reference chart #1
Manufactures quality innovations #2

So this is a savings of $300 from the cheapest procedure to date & over $1,000 cheaper than dealer.

Thanks, poptopclk

This will go into the next revision of the W220 Encyclopedia. I cannot get your link to work, even by copying & pasting into the browser - can you fix that??

Update 8/28 - link fixed; thanks!!

Excellent news!! Too bad I had mine replaced back in Feb at $110 each for the Beru aftermarkets... :(

So how "old" were these ones from this store? The sensors themselves have stamped on them the MFG date... just wanted to see if these guys are selling "fresh" ones is all.

Very Fresh

Orange electronics just released this sensor. It didn't exist on the market until July.

I don't think this particular model is listed on their website yet.

It is in their comprehensive PDF list , however.

I've read the whole encyclopedia & searched for an answer but can't find anything conclusive, my 2000 S500 has no clue of tpms in the menus at all, should I assume that my car has it & it's been turned off in star? or is it possible that my 2000 doesn't have tpms at all? I'd love to order these but don't want to if I have no chance of activating tpms on my car...

I'm in the same boat as turbocad6. 02S500 with no indication of TPMS in the menu's. Could someone clarify if the base system is in place or what is needed to determine what is missing? I'd love to have this option installed as well.

If its not on the menus and not giving warning lights, then no you most likely (99%) don't have TPMS. The other 1% is for the weirdos who might have had the feature turned off.

If it seems you don't have TPMS

I don't know if it was standard equipment on the W220 from 2000-2006

It may have been an option on some & standard on others.
Also S430,S500,S600 obviously have different options and packages.

Take your VIN and call the local Benz dealer and ask them to look up your vehicles ordered options. If you have it they will be able to confirm.

If I recall it became standard equipment post-facelift (2003 and up). Check your owners manual to verify... it will let you know if it was considered an option in the pre-facelift chassis or not. I know that it was standard equipment by 04 as my window sticker and original sales brochure list it as such.

Just had this thought as well... another way to check if you might have TPMS is to simply look at your tires valve stem. If they are the simple rubber flexible stem then no TPMS, if you have a "blolted-in" looking metal stem then likely sensor behind that stem.....

problem is, with a used car there's no way of knowing if it came with it & then someone removed it at some point because they didn't want to spend a fortune restoring it & had it turned off, or if it really never had it... guess the only way to confirm is to hook it up to star, or like you said call the dealer with the vin... thanks :)

Absolutely. The dealer can run a Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) and tell you whether you had TPMS.

I just ordered two. MB replaced one under warranty maybe 2 years ago. Mine is an 06. Who knows if any of the others have been replaced before I bought this S500 at 3 years old and 18,500 miles. I have one out now so I'll keep one on hand. Possibly 3 of mine are original yet but only one has failed. What is the shelf life if not installed?

Hate to trouble you, poptopclk, but can you lower tire pressure on one wheel and see if the system identifies the correct one? Everyone I've talked to, outside of this forum, has told me that new sensors, had to be synced up to the system, like paring a bluetooth headset to the phone. Once it's done, it's done. I would try it, but my car has already been "synced up." Thanks to you and everyone involved. I spent almost $600 bucks getting mine done.

Thanks to me I did my whole system for $300 for all 4 tires sensors & just reset the central TPMS and drove for 15 minutes and pressures just appeared. Then I
adjusted pressures to my prefrences. The tire having air added or removed DID ADJUST ON THE SCREEN at correct tire position, if that helps

If I know what vehicle you have I can answer better.

If you have a 2004 S class there is no pairing or coding.

There is an antenna at each wheel well that is highly directional it can only pickup the signal from that whel weel's rim.

THERE IS NO CODING OR PAIRING REQUIRED ON A 2004-2006 S500

Before 2003 I don't know.

call

For some reason, it is not available anymore.
Your best bet is to call them. That is how I got mine. I have posted the part number to ask for.

If they are out of stock then they will be happy to tell you when they will be back in stock.

I found they to have very nice customer service
