Hello everyone. I keep on getting a fault on my s65 when ever i hook it up to carsoft. The fault stored is p2033 tpm switch with variable vehicle speed limitation. It is getting annoying. I believe my s55 had the same fault back in the days. I just dont want it to be something serious.

It shown as a STORED code. Not currently active. Clear it and and monitor to see if it comes back. If it doesnt throw a CEL, I wouldnt worry too much.

P2033 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 2) <--- This is why I say use a good scanner, best to use DAS/Xentry.

Also these -
P2033 S40/4 (CC switch with variable speed limiter)
P2033 S40/4 (TPM touch switch with variable speed limit)
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 1
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 2
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 3
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 4
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 5
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 6
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 7
P2033 transmission control 2 EGS fault 8

Das will help better than anything else. Get the car read with DAS and run the tests for the switch if it shows the same error code.

Its S40/4 which i dont know what it is. I have mb carsoft 7.4
I'm sorry to say it, but Carsoft is awful, I bought one years ago, tried it once on a relatively simple W638, and then, un impressed, I chucked it in a box under my bench, along with a load of other "EBay Junk" test equipment...........

SDS is the only way to do all on these cars, you will need it to code on Distronic correctly :wink

HTH,

Cheers Dave

I know carsoft is junk but interms of the engine management its a okay scanner (my $20 ebay scanner works better lol). Well my s65 is sort of out of comission right now. My map sensor has a vacuum leak and throttle body harness is shot.

Now for the bright side tb harness was $100 and hose/map sensor $75 while i was there i also got the pulstation dampener. I have to wait till friday for my parts.

Okay this code comes up on star aswell and we cannot figure out the cause. We replaced the pulsation dampener and wow what a difference on noise (no more humming).

DAS has a test for the switch which will tell you if it is faulty or not. You need it connected to run the test, the other thing to consider is that if you have no trouble using the switch and it's just the fault code you can ignore it.
