I recently bought myself a 2003 S600. I primarily bought the car for the engine and couldn't be more in love with the car. However, today I found myself with an open stretch of highway and decided to see what she's got. To my disappointment, the car literally stopped accelerating at 130mph. Now, I was under the impression the car had a top speed restriction of 155mph. Does anyone know what's going on here??? As soon as it gets to 130 it shifts into overdrive and settles down at 2000 RPM. I can't beleive that they neutered this car so badly. Help me please..........:crybaby2:

I may be wrong but, I believe the european versions are limited to 155 while US are 130, but I might be wrong.

130 governor is good. Not too many cars have it that high.
Soon we are going to have new President - good chance to write a complain to him.

Don't think removing governor is that easy. Years ago, when I picked up new ML320 I called MBUSA with complain as my dealer did not even know (back in 1999) that the car had governor. I could fool the governor for a moment by reaching 117 mph on 3rd gear, but when I let it go on 4th or 5th the governor kicked it back to 115.
MBUSA gave me lot of BS about the issue and finally advise me to after-market tuners.
Honestly with the Police trying heavily to substitute government budgets you would need lot of money to pay off all the tickets.

Does anyone know if there is a chip that can be installed to derestrict the top speed? Or, is this something that I am going to have to pay a tuning shop to reprogram it and get rid of the top speed restriction???? :crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2::crybaby2:

:cool:ok...since no one seems to know anything about the Brabus module, I'll continue this thread on my own...I found what I need...the Brabus T12 ECU....here's the link to specs...it seems to be be an electronics upgrade only ( no engine mods) and simply reprograms the car's fueling, timing and top speed. It also adds 80HP and 140FT/LBS TQ....here's a link to the specs... http://www.brabus.com/en/deliver.php?id=6140&filename=W221 T12.EN.pdf

I haven't contacted the manufacturer as of yet, but will be getting pricing asap.
