Just so you know, I wanted to see what's the top speed for the C class (240, 320). I've got my car in Feb of 2001, plenty of time to run in the engine. Standard engine on my C240, I was max speed at 128 mph. The car was so quiet, my pedal was down flat on the floor. I could have gone more if the car wasn't governed at 128 (chiped).
Any of you took it to higher speeds with regular engine on?

The C240 (a/t) maxed out at 6000rpm at 245kph (153mph) a little later, but the speedo is obviously a bit optimistic... ...real top speed should be around 235 kph (147mph). Fun nonetheless...
Pushed mine (a C-Wagon) up to ~153Mph. And that's
it - tried on a German highway, which was perfectly straight and flat for many kilometers.
Maybe in a sedan which has a bit better Cx you
have chance to really hit the limiter.
Mine (C320 USA )) hit the rev limiter at 137mph. If you know someone you might be able to make the speed limiter go away.
