Just curious.

I have no knowledge or experience yet about SL.
But I do know that it is one of the most beautiful set of wheels in the world.

When you have a hard top on it, where is a soft top?
Is it underneath trunk?

And when you drive with topless (I mean, as a convertible), do you leave a hard top at home?

the hard top pops off (about 45 pounds?) and is stored in a 'cradle' of sorts. mine is stored in the garage. some have an electrically-operated hoist attached to their garage roofs that lift off the top and crank it up and out of the way. nice. i don't have that.

the soft top is then operated with the throw of a switch on the dashboard and pops up and back (and locks and unlocks) in about 20 seconds(?). when the top is stowed, there is an area between the boot (trunk) of the car and the little area behind the two seats. so, it is not stored under the boot (trunk) per se but just in front of it in a special compartment that has it's own electrically-operated 'u' shaped top.
