And our alignment mechanic (not Jono with Blue Ridge) says one of the engine cradle bolts has broken/sheered off. He's recommending replacing all of them - as they come in a kit.

So...questions.

What are the cradle bolts called in MB terms? (it seems to be something U.S. manufacturers use)

Anyone done this job - what type of labor does it entail?

Looking at about $700 repair.

We have no clue where these parts are even located.

Thanks for your insight as always

Man, $ 700 bucks for 4 bolts ? I want to work for you ! The replace easily from the bottom, so no idea why they think that is such a hard job !

Did a little digging and I think it is the subframe bolts/bushings. Looks like once you factor in genuine parts we're looking at about $500 in labor - to replace all of them. We did find an old thread detailing the job and unfortunately we don't have a way to easily get to the bolts - car needs a lift. We'd remove tires, tie rods, brake line and then the subframe mounts. And of course my husband doesn't have a lot of time or knowledge about this particular job for a DIY.

**and by the way, those of you who advised us early on that this beast would likely run about $2-3K per year in upkeep - you're spot on. Every season it's something new. But we do love this car.

I did this job last summer and with no prior experience it took a day. There are several prior threads and I posted the MPC diagram here:

I don't understand why you would remove a brake line to get to the bushings. I did it with two front tires off and replaced the bushings one side at a time using a crowbar to get just enough clearance to remove and replace each bushing.
