Hiya folks, first time post here. Along with my 2K CLK430 I also have a 1974 450 SLC. I am wondering if any of you, who also have a 107 chassis based vehicle experience a rough or vibrating idle. When stopped or in park the engine feels like it vibrates a little too much. When driven, the vibration disappears at around 15-20 mph and from there on up, it is smooth. Thanks in advanced for any comments or solutions that you may have.

I get the same problem though with mine the its not vibration, but more an irratic jolting sensation particularly when in drive and at a stop (like traffic lights). It is as though one of the sparks is missing, but it only happens at idle and as soon as you pull off it goes away and all is smooth. Also the jolting decreases significantly when the air conditioning is on.

What’s going on? What could the culprits
?

Hello,

I've a '80 450 SLC 5.0 and it's also vibrating when idle. I've tried the spark plugs/cable, but it didn't help. After a few other tries, I gave up and took the car to service.

They are telling me that this vibration is a normal issue on old 107, the fuel distributor gets aged and the problem is is exactly this: vibration when idle.

The fuel distributor, though, is a bit expensive and usually the best choice is to get it remanufactured.

Do you guys know where I can get this part remanufactured, by the way?

Thanks,
Slo-Mo
