I finally got my car back from the dealer.
I have never thrown a fit at a dealer till today and it still puzzles me as to why I had to go to such extreme measures to get my car taken care of.
I was given my car back half-washed and with a cracked Vario panel. This is the panel some people have had a problem with being slightly elevated.
I was told the part was back-ordered from Germany and would take a couple of weeks to come in so I could pick up my car in the mean time.
I arrived to an SLK where that panel was effectively broken in half at the mid point - the top half sticking up about an inch from the curve of the roof and the second part sticking out below so that it clicked against the trunk when I opened it.
I eventually got the service manager to see the car and once he saw it, he concurred that the car should never have been returned to me in that state and that he would personally take care of it.
He did.
I heartily commend him on his efforts to get my car back in good shape but the question remains, why should I have to make a fuss to get this resolved?
Sorry if I am rambling but I was so very frustrated about this... oh well, at least I have my SLK back! [
