Hi Mclare,

the harness is an easy thing! Take one out of the W124 late gen., they got
two electric mirrors with the right switch for it.

I tried this on a W116 with the e-mirror from an W123 and had to change the
joint from an W116 non electric mirror to fit all togehter. I´m not sure, if one
can change it on a W126???

Driver and passengerside mirrors got different sight angles. As you´re sitting
on the left side, the english mirror is not enough turned to you, because its a
passenger mirror. It would be interesting to find out, if the electric adjustment
is able to turn the mirror blade much enough.

I know a great person on Ebay with 126 parts if u wanted to do that - I could enquire for you or give you their ID so you could ask directly. Which would you rather? Breakers are very thin on the ground, cars just get recycled a lot quicker here now, sad isnt it.

What Roland says is true. The angle in which the mirror is displayed would not be good for the driver. You would need to do some modification to get the right angle.

mattman, a former member from New Zealand posted up how to modify the on-side mirror to work. He took a US passenger and modified it for our drivers side to make both powered. He also used the 124 switch for adjustment, it fits in the console.

search his old posts.

Talbir was actually the first to do this modification... he sent out the instructions to other members along with Mattman's old 560SEL.

I read that old post and I am sure I can Mod one to fit. I am quite handy with the Duct tape and bailing wire.

Ian - Yes, if you could PM me their ID that would be great! Thanks!
