Hey I just wanted to put this out there. On February 1st I ordered a new set of tires from Tirerack.com. I was amazed at how quickly I recieved them. They arrived today at 4:30pm. It was only like 2 days!

I ordered a set last night and they shipped this morning from Louisiana, so I'm pretty stoked I'll have them on this weekend.

Thanks for the recommendations from everyone.

I've never ordered from TR, do you order then they ship it to your approved installer? Is that how it works, or they ship it to you?
I thought they shipped to their approved installer, but could be mistaken. I always try to use tirerack, but they don't really compete on price in San Diego. I can drive a 1/2 mile down the street and have tires in a couple of hours for the same price or less.

They do both. I had a set for my first w123 sent to Sullivan Tire a few towns away. For the current one I had them sent to my house so I could have a friend put them on.

I'm having mine shipped to my front porch. I figured they would be here tomorrow, but it looks like UPS is on schedule for today. I'm very impressed.

My UPS guy appreciated me leaving the hatch open on the wagon so he could load them right in for me rather than carry them up to the house. Mount and balance was $20 per. That was an advantage to 14" rims since $20 is the base price for 14" and its $5 extra from each additional inch of rim size. That added quite a bit of cost to my truck which has 17s.

I've found costco has the best prices when you factor in the road hazard and lifetime rotate and balance and nitrogen. Not to mention to convenience factor of doing it while your shopping. Sure beats sitting in the waiting room at NTB or where ever getting nothing done.

For me the options of Costco or Discount Tire make more sense price-wise. And I have someone local to deal with warranty issues. I've bought from both and have been pleased with the service.

Discount says they guarantee the lowest prices but they don't. My buddy that works for Tire Rack said they supply Discount Tire with most of the products they sell.

Discount (at least the one here) also won't touch a car with spacers "because it's not factory." Stupid considering aftermarket wheels aren't either but they love to sell and install them...
