I am getting new 18" wheels for my CLK Cabriolet and was wondering what type of tires everyone recommends.

thanks

Bridgestone Fuzion. Good tread wear and priced nicely too. You however have a 320 which does not use a stagered setup like 430 and 55's so there are more applications available for your car. I also like the toyo line of tires from a $ prospective. If you go to stagered setup. plan on replacing tires every 15,000 miles or less if you like more "spirited" driving. Consider this when you shop tires. Also, stagered setup = not being able to rotate being that tires are directional. good luck, BC

I'd suggest the toyo's too. This is the setup on my car.

Front - Proxes T1-S 225/45ZR17 94WRD 94 7.0-7.5-8.5 20.9 lbs
Rear - Proxes T1-S 245/40ZR17 95WRD 95 8.0-8.5-9.5 22.3 lbs

Like I told leerph (he's looking for a quiet tire), Check out the BF Goodrich G-Force 2s. Best tire for the buck. Everything else is overrated. Dig it? I like mine so much that I'm going to get a second set when I upgrade to 18" rims.[;)]

Michelin Pilot PS2 - quietest of these, excellent grip, good in rain too.
Bridgestone S03 - noisy, but excellent.
Pirelli Assimetrico - suck in rain
Toyo T1S - cheaper than above, prob best bang for buck.
Dunlop 9000 sport - excellent tire, quieter than S03, good compromise if PS2's are on back order.
Nitto 555 - comparbly priced to Toyo, inferior to T1S
Falken 451 - excellent T1S still better, but these are also affordable alternative

If you are just cruising around, then just get Falken Azenis, or Toyo Proxes FZ4, or similar all season Z rated is fine. No need to get super high performance expensive tires that will last 6-8 months if you just use your car daily driving and are not a speed racer.

Just IMO, I have had experience with all of the above.
