I do not like the oe 245/45R/18 size tires.. due to stiff riding and low tire sidewall height. 3.86 inches. (Have blown out 3 tires over the past 2 yrs due to road potholes.. Was thinking or replacing them with 245 /40R 18 which are slightly larger in circumference (1 inch) and sidewall height height is 4.25 inches thus a softer ride.. .. .. I realize the speedo will be off about 2% which is not a problem for me.. Are there any other reasons why I should not consider this installation..

WHY are you decreasing your sidewall height? ------> from 45 to 40......
You said you wanted a softer ride...
How do you get a softer ride by reducing the sidewall height?
