My ‘17 C 43 came with 18” wheels and Perelli run flat tires. I don’t like those tires (more below) and would prefer quality non-run flat tires. So, does anybody know where I can buy a compact spare?

Also, my front OEM tires went bald after 14K miles of rather conservative driving, and we’re replaced in kind. The rears still have good tread at a little over 20K miles, but they seem very noisy. Does anybody else find their run flats to be noisy on this car?

Run flats are terrible tyres we change ours with a few weeks of having the car. We just put a compressor and a bottle of tyre goo in the trunk.

Yes, car makers are putting really poor OEM tires in their cars. Our C 43 with 20K miles on it sounds like I am driving a tank on the rear tires. The front tires went bald at 15K miles And were replaced with same. And it is not just MB. our 2011 Toyota RAV4 had all its Bridgestone Duelers go bald at 15K miles. And they were the only Bridgestone tires that had no tire tread warranty! I need to replace all four tires now to make the C 43 drive and sound like a MB. As the tires in the C 43 are staggered, no rotation is possible. Next time I buy a new car, I will insist it be priced with NO OEM tires, and I will have tires shipped to the dealer before delivery. The run flat tires on our C 43 are just a disgrace!

We went with Michelin pilot sport 3’s and are a much nicer ride.

TOTALLY recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or the Pilot Sport 4 - both have same grip wet/dry and same treadwear - but the S has a slightly stiffer sidewall and is more track oriented. As the C43 has adjustable suspension I'd recommend the 4S as you can soften the ride if when you want.

Another vote here for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, they are excellent. Also, remember that because the car is 4WD you must replace all 4 tyres at once or you will cause signifcant wear to the transmission. Do not replace them 2 at a time if you want your trans to last.
