Hi,

I purchased a 2001 S203 estate/wagon 4 weeks ago. My plan is for DIY servicing. I'd be really appreciative of any cautions, tips, hints and advice from forum members to make this goal a lot easier to achieve. I don't see the point in "reinventing the wheel" if others have already "been there, done that". :help:

Thanks,

Paul

If the car has done more than 60k then consider changing the transmission fluid and filter, transmissions are expensive items to fail.

"Do you have a good set of tools?"

An OK set ... good enough for servicing my last two cars. Is there something special I should be aware of?

" ... consider changing the transmission fluid and filter"

Noted ... the vehicle's service record shows nothing specific relating to this after 110,000km and 8 recorded services.

Thanks,

Paul

Double check coolant change - just as vital as tranny fluid but much cheaper
