when is it recommended to change the timing belt for a 2002 ml320 with 82,000. Or how can i find out if it was changed? also how long should you drive with those double wrenches blinking? any info is highly appreciated!

MLs have timing chain (not belt).
Please search the forum, this topic has been discussed before.
In short, no need to worry about timing chain replacement for ML.

The wrenches are just your service interval advisor; Its good too have the Chains Tensioner looked at..

Deff pick up a manual on eBay. Especially if this is your first Benz. It will also advise you how too reset those wrenches...
