I have a 1969 230 with dual zenith carburetors. The Chilton's manual says timing should be set to 37 degrees btdc at 4500 rpm ...is that correct? What should it be at idle? I'm new at this so any help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming it is a sixcylinder? You would need your engine number (on the block, left rear) and the distributor number. you should be able to find your combination. Make sure you take not of the difference with and without vaccum attached (also google translate might be good if your german is a bit rusty :))
