i have a 2000clk430 same issue...head mechanic @Mercedes says its a purge valve...normal???
Ticking/Knocking noise
Anyone experience a ticking or knocking sound after a cold start?
I've got a 99 CLK430 w/ 53k miles, and for the first few miles of driving after a cold start, I always hear a ticking sound. The sound disappears after I've driven for awhile.
My dealer believes defective lifters are the cause, but in order to confirm, they need to take things apart, which of course cost $$$.
