I have performed most of the Flex B service myself. I took my 2003 c320 to a local repair shop to rotate the tires, and I also asked them to lube he thottle linkage as it is stated in the Flex B service. The service guy told me that there is no throttle linkage, the throttle is electronically controlled. This don't make sense. Can someone explain to me where the linkage is locted and how to lubriate it? I would greatly appreciate it.

There is no throttle linkage. The throttle is electronically controlled.

That is, the pedal just talks to the computer (it has two sensors so if one fails it won't run away on you). The computer takes your input and uses it to modulate the throttle butterfly using a small stepper motor. There is no linkage.

Hey, fodo, welcome to the forum.

The Service lists are generic items, so it's possible that a particular item may not apply to your car. For example, 4Matic items are ignored on 2wd models.

IIRC your car has a pedal position sensor right on the throttle pedal that sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU in turn sends a signal to the throttle actuator on the TB that actually opens the throttle, it's very jet-age fly-by-wire.

So there is no throttle linkage to be lubricated. Sounds like you have a shop you can trust not to steal from you, they easily could have charged you $50 for nothing.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Which list are you using? Most of the MB lineup went electronic throttle in the late 90s to early 2000s, they should all be electronic now I think.
My car is electronic, but a different design in that there there is a cable from the throttle to the TPS under the hood, so that is still a cable and linkage (of sorts) that has to be lubricated. Both designs persist today at the Haus of Benz I believe.

I'd forgotten about that one, from my past W210 ownership. It's a strange design! If that persists, it's odd but would explain the instructions on Service B.

I agree it seems strange, but it's lots cheaper than the pedal assembly and MUCH easier to change...plus it seems to rarely fail.
