Can we at least agree that the modern day crap fuels are not benefitting the Jetronic cars thus making them more fragile and less reliable?

Well, I can say with certainty that ethanol fuels are death to the EHA eventually.

We get 5% ethanol and that may not help my fuel system. However, the entire system is new so I hope to get a few years out of it.

Even in my desperate state over EZLs, I cannot imagine that ethanol's the guilty party.

It is likely not the guilty party in this case, BUT ethanol is not kind to these mechanical systems especially if they sit for long times.

However, it is not going to get better. In order to minimize your ethanol uptake (at least in Europe), you must use premium fuel (standard fuel has 10%) and the socialist tree huggers are continually looking to increase that percentage.

Could there be some confusion between USB chargers that take power from the car to power/charge external devices such as a phone versus battery chargers that put power back into the car electrical system? I'm confused.
Yes I was envisioning a battery charger that used the cigarette lighter jack.

There's the generation now of these hand size chargers that can plug into your cigarette lighter or clamp on the battery......that will also give you a jump charge for a dead/dying battery. They also double to charge phones and other electronic device with USB ports.

Formally, they were small mini suitcase size but portable. It's hard to believe that these little hand size units can store enough charge to jump start a battery like the mini suitcase models did. But they claim they do. Most have a flashlight built in as well.

If you think that spark arcing across a poor connection on the sparkplug would cause the EZL failure, then explain how it works under the load of the rotor creating auto clicker an arc in the distributor cap 6 times per revolution.
