OKay. So does anyone Think that I could get like 6k for my car on ebay? 1985 380SE Wood reconditioning done, new head unit, sub and amp, new balljoints, great running condition, all major services done, new exhaust system from cat-back.. and Brand new NJ Inspection. Very minor surface rust started on 2 wheel wells and near rear window.

I am thinking of buying a 190E, it will be drastically different but I may just buy another and keep the 2 but I have VERY limmited space. Check my post on the W124 forum, if you like, the other posibility is listed there. A rare 1985 124 AMG *I THINK* I need to verify!

That doesn't seem likely, looking at prices for 560s and 420s on ebay. For 6k, Bruce would probably have a pretty nice 560 with timing chain done, etc. From what I've read on this forum, the 380 engine is not too popular. 6K for this seems overly optimistic.

Regards,

Matt

Darn, I have put too much money into this car, Haha, The way I see it, I need at least 4.5k to break even for all the work.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I would need to get over 5k for my '82 380 SEL to break even, but mine sounds to be in slightly worse condition than yours. Live and learn I guess. Next time I'll do a bit more research and a bit more shopping before I buy.

The motor is underpowered, And the gas mileage is bad, To install any kind of really good performance inhancement (like the differential is like $700 with out the cost of the unit) And Becuase my dad may have found a w124 E36 AMG for me.. I may end up with both.

WEll, i have officailly said the hell with it. That CRAZY dude wanted 30K for his 1985 300e? With an aftermarket conversion to AMG specs. Done later, not facorty installed, He was insane. The 380 Is here to stay, getting the new differential and euros and much more!

And the smoked corners would be better . . . or the original amber . . .

If you dropped in a 500 EURO engine with short wheel base you'll say the power is fantastic for the size.

That's the cheapest mod you should do!

yeah. keep it. I'll help ya fix it up. That interior of yours would be a real turnoff to a potential buyer. We need to start hitting the boneyards and getting that replaced. Call me. gonna be hitting the boneyards next week anyway.

Sounds good I Would Love to go, I do need to get that ugly seat recovered or replaced.. As far as a 500 Euro engine, where could I get it and fr how much? Also, DarkOne, could you put in my rear differential? my mechanic wants an unreasonable amount to put it in..

awesome, becuase I really didn't want to pay the machanic $650. And it will be a 2.82 rear becuase lousy gas mileage and a lound rear are not something that I want. I just need something to give it a little bit more kick. Nothing too drastic, and how's the body kit going?
