Very strange. Measure your old upper guides. If the are 172MM they may be the same as the 117 engine. #117 052 09 06.

I'll check them out, but I seem to remember them being different.

Got a quote for new undersized camshaft bearings (0.25mm), £180 but will need to see if the old cam shaft is big enough, it may have worn too much.

A new camshaft and standard bearings will be the best part of £900, ouch.

Here is the epc showing only one slide rail part number.

Yes, I saw that. I wonder why it doesn't show the upper guides. The M117 shows them.

My info shows 3 of 1160521716. Of course it isn't the best reference.

I give up. The EPC doesn't even show them for the M116 in the 380SL.

Ah Ha. Re checked the 380 and it says 3 of the same as Alan listed.

RD. Did you toss the old ones?

All three on the 84 380SL were the same...

I believe they were original, about 77K, and 24 years old.....:eek: This was the chain, had about 8 degrees off on right cam.
