Okay lets stroke the ego. Great shots!!!! I thought so when i saw them. looks professional love the deep saturated colours. I would start upgrading those brakes now. Really fill those rims.

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing.

There is a guy in the R129 forum on MBWorld who is selling all the '01-'02 Silver Arrow brake components, including calipers, drilled rotors, etc., for $1200. You might want to think about taking him up on his offer...those would look hot behind your new rims.

You really gotta get rid of those stock brakes...the rims make them very visible.

I'd be curious to know camera/lens info - the photos are very striking.

The first looks like you set the aperture to shallow out the depth of field whereas the second appears to be the result of a rather wide angle lens.

I'm currently playing around with a new Canon G9 PowerShot (12 megapixel) that allows for all sorts of different exposure modes as well as lens adapters. I'm assuming that these were also shot digital, so any tips would be appreciated!

Thank you. These were quick shots, with little planning. I am planning on some better ones soon.

The camera is a Canon 5D DSLR. (Full frame sensor) The wide angle lens is a 17-40 USM "L" lens, and a 100-400 IS USM "L" lens.

The first photo is at 350mm, the second 17mm with a circular polarizer.

As you can see it's a hobby,,

I do agree with aam. Your pics seem taken by a professional photographer.
Congrats Eff1-

Meanwhile since I'm changing the rims on my CL 500 I wanted to ask the permission to post the before and after here to share opinions with all my friends here.
I know I know the CL is a W215 so I should post them in that forum but since we all here spent so much time together I wanted to share my joy with you all too.
I'll wait for your permission before posting them.

Cheers.

Regards.

You can say it loud aam: a R129er is always a R129er.
For the CL I got some 18" AMG replicas imilar to the ones found in the R230 star shaped but with twin double spokes and a set of Dunlop SP 9000. I tested those tyres on my father's one month old Jaguar XF (yes the latest Jaguar 4 doors saloon/sedan) doing 140 KPH to 180 KPH (87 MPH to 111 MPH) under heavy rain and an Audi R8 gave me road while I was arriving on the motorway. Those tyres are as good as Pirelli PZeros. Amazing.
I'm having the job done in about 10 hours and I really can't wait. I hope I can sleep ehehhe.

Before posting the before and after pics I'll try to wait the permission of the mods too.

Cheers.

msbarsi, as one of the most prolific and valued R129 members you really do not need permission to post up pics of your CL wheels.
