I’ve learned a whole lot ever since I’ve started visiting and reading these forums, and I’ve actually solved a whole lot of issues throughout my car. My CEL is off, and my transmission runs smoothly. The only issue is my convertible top.

I know that there are sensors in the car, especially the roll over bar. I know that it’s sensitive and not to mess with it.

my 97 SL320 had enough space to transport a 60 pound mini fridge in the back “storage” compartment With the seats moved all the way up. It was a weird ride to Miami due to the fact that I had to remove the hard top to fit the mini fridge. Regardless, I admit I messed up. I should have double checked.
I drove with the hardtop basically unlocked. The front locks weren’t tightened nor were the back locks. So the whole drive I got a ton of wind noise and didn’t go past 65 mph the whole time. I eventually pulled over and locked the front locks, after trying and finding out that they weren’t unlocked by pushing upwards and seeing the clear blue sky looking back at me. The rear locks were a bigger problem but I took it a week later to my mechanic to have it fixed and re-set.

thanks you for reading that, but here is the issue.

Convertible button is red, full time, and so is the roll-over bar and my dashboard roll-over light. I’ve disconnected the battery several times and it hasn’t helped. The buttons do nothing and it seems to be in a locked state. What could be a good way to diagnose the problem and fix it? Any tips what-do-ever?

Are windows reset? Hold the buttons for left and right side up for like 6 seconds then each side will make a noise indicating they’re set for auto drop
