Maybe having the wrong type of wire ends was the reason it was so hard for me to get the distributor cap cover onto my black (first) 1973 450sl. I wonder if I can find any pictures.
The interesting thing to note might be that, if you have a dizzy cover, you won't see any of the wire connections under the cover, meaning you might not get any point deductions for the wrong wires on a concourse unless they were to remove the dizzy cover.
But those covers are very hard to find now. I assume they are NLA.
