Lowering

im sure that'll look great. pics when it's done! are you going to consider lowering later?
Perhaps. I have Airmatic, and I don't want to sacrafice ride or handling too much. This is my wife's daily driver (I get 10% time), so I'm not going too crazy on it.

Tire prices

I just looked up those tires on a tire site .. 300 bux each?!?! wowie wow wow!
Z-rated Ultra High Performance tires do not come cheaply. The 19" Michelins for my M3 are more than that (I figure $.09/mile for tires on the M3).

I put on the ML63 wheels today. First some data.

19x8.5 OEM wheel w/ 255/50 Pirelli I&S (~6k mi.) - 69.5 lb.
20x10 AMG wheel w/ 295/40 Continental CrossTerrains UHP (~4k mi.) - 74.1 lb.

Tires on AMG stick out about 35mm further than OEM. They are 10mm beyhond the top of the wheel arch in front, and flush with the top in the rear. As the wheel well wraps down front and rear it tapers in so they are out further.

The second photo is of the 19s, the rest are of the 20s. Photos of the AMGs are with Airmatic on Sport setting. I'm thinking I may want to add the flares.

It really looks like a truck now. Good Job. The 19s look so puny now compared to the 20s. Im am a big fan. As far as it sticking out, I think it looks perfect. It looks way meaner than before.

Nice!

Hi Greg!

I think you should get your 10% ML driving ratio upped a bit - and don't put on the flares if you can avoid it, please.

Kindest greetings from
Birger

Good to hear from you Birger! As much as I love the ML for its virtues, it doesn't hold a candle to the M3 for driving pleasure. Now when I get my next M3 with at least 420 hp, I guess I'll have to upgrade to the 63.

ML63 wheels

Greg you mind if ask what they ended up costing you. I am looking to get set for myself.
Thanks,
$3,600 including shipping, 2 years ago. I think they had about 5k miles or less on them.
