Hello all! Annoying problem here. I own a 94 c220d. i replaced my fan belt about 3 months ago and about 3 weeks ago it started slipping constantly . The belt is only new so i rekon its the gas strut or spring thats the cause of the problem. the top bush on the strut has rattled with wear since i bought the car so its time 4 a change!

Q'n is im not paying E150 to MB for the 2 parts. So I'll grab something from the scrappers, but can I pull them from any other engine eg. 250,300? Or will only a 220d do?

not sure about over there, but over here the regular parts houses can get the parts you need for quite a bit less. No way I would mess with a used shock; you never know what you will get or how long it will last.

the 1 fr the c220 d is the 1 to go for, try euro car parts or gsf tho, most of their stuff is 25-50% cheeper than merc, and they'll post no probs, try euro 1st tho, they got a good search enjine system in place for the right parts.

frm what iv experienced tho finding a 220d in a scrappy is few and far between, il post bk in a while with ur best bet in scrappy/breakers
