While shopping for a new cell phone on the Internet today. I was struck with the question, I wonder what cell platform Tele Aid works off of? I believe I remember reading that it uses service from ATT Wireless, but can't remember if it was AMPS or TDMA based? I am asking this because, I recently read the press release issued last year that after Jan 1. 2007 cell phone companies no longer have to operate analog networks, and if this is what Tele Aid operates off of, what will happen to their existing customers?

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jamie

TeleAid works on AMPS (analog) network.

Maybe in 2007 the current installed base will no longer work. Which isn't TOO surprising because my 1999 car has a built in cellular phone (analog) that cannot be activated on any carrier here, and the official word from MBUSA is that there is no upgrade path (buy a new car...).
