Tech info about C - where to get?

Hello,

Like many of you, I drive a Benz - a 2001 C320. I would like technical info. Having paid a lot of money, I think that is my right!

Benz, and specialist web sites like LMV Industry (lmvind) do not agree. They want to keep tech info highly secret, so I do not complain, and so I have to pay them top dollar to fix my car. This bahaviour is illegal in most industries, but in cars it is tolerated.

Well, not by me! I am determined to find out how my car works, how I read the error registers, where the stereo is located, what the real tech specs are, and what common faults are (like the win noise and the squeeky seat). Surely there must be some way I can find this info?

If I have to set up my own web site for this, to gather it myself, then I will. But perhaps it exists already - are there other sites like lmvind that WILL allow individuals like me to join? Any ways to get tech manuals?

Any ideas?
i've tried to clear out this problem several times. There is a very good comprehensive MB-
related information database at www.alldatadiy.com. I'm a subscriber for several
models, ie. 1999 E320, 96 C280. 99 C430 and so on.
Unfortunately, they don't have 2000 or 2001
models in their offer. Of course, if you're smart
you can use a lot of information from other models
(as i'm doing for example engine and its surrounding is almost same to the E320), many
systems are identical including anti theft and
others. But there are also as much differences
as similarities, so access to W203 documentation
would be a great thing.
Till now i haven't figured out how to get such a
tech docs. I'll gladly join....
U can get the tech manuals from MBUSA [see inside]

They will only ship to US address, but are very helpful - here is a link to a site that describes all about this

- They have the ETM (electrical trouble shooting manual) for the W203, and stuff that looks like a Info and Communication System manual aswell ..

Cheers

R
