I have read about reseating the tach sending unit on my '82 300td, however when I unscrewed the unit the sender stays within the cap. It will not pull out with gentle pressure and I don't want to break it. At highway speeds the tach works intermitantly so I would like to try the "foam" trick that I have found on this forum.
Is there a trick to removing the sender from the cap?
