You find the TCU in the black box in the motor compartment at the right side (driving direction).

It is located a little bit deeper than the other devices. It is the one placed at the outside.

You should not have any fluid wicking up through the harness if you periodically change the seal at the electronic connection on the transmission. I've actually never seen this happen to a MB even though I've seen a few posts about it.

Every couple of years, change the fluid, filter, gasket and O-ring connector. Get the replacement dipstick cap and lock, too. The fluid is relatively cheap at the dealer and please, use what MB recommends.

The original connector had only one seal and this was a problem, the modified connector has two seals and if changed for the modified connector then there is no reason to change it again.

I run a workshop and know this wick effect is a very common problem, individual car owners may not know it however.
