Since I have a camper, I have a long rear overhang. Anyone have pics of a swing down bumper installation/design? (up for off road, down for highway) I currently have a temporary solution that must be removed and stored for off road.

Here the back with the temporary bumper in place. The box is a winch.

This Unimog has a Bumper/step that slides up out of the way . Two Pins secure it either in the up or down position (yellow circles). Shown in the up position, the Dashed line represents the approximate down position.

What about using pins of sorts and have a 'brace' arm coming down for support when on road, for off pull secure pin and slide to 'up' position and repin?? Or some such varient.

I didn't think about modding the existing bumper. That might work.

The current road bumper mounts in a receiver. But I have no need to currently tow anything. I probably need to think about how I want the force of a rear impact absorbed too.
