Might not be able to wait until May, after driving nobby's straight six SL with manny tranny, I want, I want!
Nah... only a 4 speed.

Tell yourself you're holding out for a 500sl 5 speed. That should hold you for pretty much the rest of your life. :)

this 280 has been on the market for months! previous listings showed pics of the interior and the seats were in horrible condition! not sure what kind of seats they were because I haven't seen them in a 107 before.. make sure you ask for pics, pics, and more pics. just my suspicion but there must be a reason why this car hasn't moved yet but I haven't gone to see the car personally so who knows?! .. could be a gem or a bust

edit: look at how that trunk lines up.. eeep!

I think that they were recaros but they showed some wear on the upper bolster. Oddly enough on the outside.

I went yesterday and gave it a look see. It's got 157K miles and is a 4 sp 6 cyl SL for sure. The interior is worn, all the original rugs there, it has been used I wouldn't say abused, but used. I'd say it sat outside. No body work that I can see and all seems as if it there. The dash is split in several places leading me to think it spend some time outside in the sun. The battery box seemed to be in great shape. The hard top was in place cloth a bit tattered and needed cleaned and detailed. That would make a bit of a difference. The seats are recaro (sis) and in need of rehopolstering The car is not in pristine shape 1 to 10 with 10 being unworkable this car, I would say is a 7. No rust body is clean and lenses are real good bumpers are straight and glass is good. motor started right up. slight lifter clatter. It's no pup but what can one expect for 157K. I'd be willing to bet it can be had for $5K. The exhaust system seemed to be new The back glass on the HT has a small crack in the corner. two small holes in conve top. Headliner needs attention (dirty) small rips, Sun visors are there, one clip is broken. All the lights work and heater fan works Wood around shifter is cracked and needs attention shifter itself needs replaced Full spare with jack. Yo must reememberI'm a bit anal. I have some pics.

I just reread my post and the car is in better overall condition than a 7. I would say the vehicle on a scale from 1 to 10 , with 10 being the worst the car is about a 4, NOT a 7 as I stated. Please remember , I DIDN"T take her for a ride, I was using my scale backwards, sorry. The car is in decent shape for a 5K vehicle. I'll try to post some pics. Sorry for any confusion. I have the owners number if anyone cares to talk to the owner, who is not the seller. It just happens to be sitting in his front yard for exposure
