Is there any readily available stiffer rear antisway bar options for my '89 560SEC?

Jono - I've heard that the W126 is a very well balanced car and installing only a stiffer rear sway bar upsets the handling. True??

I'd LOVE to get a stiffer set of sway bars but I'm kinda leery of just one.

Well, the fronts are SO Much stiffer then the rear, thus these cars Overwhelming propensity towards understeer that we can go a Lot stiffer in the rear w/o negative consequences.

Is great to have a V8 w126 that does have a tendency to oversteer a bit as those 300 horses can help provide a bit too much oversteer at times ...

Can the back end not be managed by stiffer shocks, and also staggered wider wheels should help as well? I've often wondered if the wider track at the front also contributes to the oversteering characteristic of the w126 as well.

over steer??!!
Only Power oversteer when/if you have it on tap :p

Wider wheels in the rear just make the handling worse IME...shocks don't do it either..tried that..neither do stiffer springs. They HELP, but these cars really needs stiffer bars in the rear..

spring adjusters

I had a look at the rear sway bar on Saturday while we put new HD Billies all round.
The twin sway bars looks like the most practical solution. Just got to find one here.
The stiffer shocks reduced the rear tyre rubbing by about 80%, just by damping rear body bounce, so when it's 40mm up it should be fine.
I've got a friend machining up some adjusters to fit in the top of the rear springs. They will be in the form of 2 circular 'T' flanges, one screwed inside the other. The top'T' face goes into the standard Benz rubber adjuster and the lower 'T' flange sits on top of the spring. As they are screwed apart, they raise the car. The circular shaft section, screwed one inside the other slides down inside the top of the spring.
Very similar to the adjusters on my Porsche 928s.

Yes the 'coil adjust'. I spoke to them on the phone. They don't have it yet but are going into production soon.
Their system requires their springs as well and they quoted me in the AU$700s range when they get them.
Because I have 40mm to play with, I can fit a SS adjuster on top of the spring for less than AU$200 I hope.
I have a K-Mac camber kit in my 560SEC and it's great.
