I had to swap out my trunk lid [dont ask] and now that it's all back together my central lock/alarm is haywire.

No longer does the drivers door activate the central locks.
If you open the drivers door, and insert the key and turn on, the alarm activates.
As soon as you close the driver door, the alarm stops.
If you activate the locking mechanism on the trunk whilst the driver door is open, everything works as advertised.

The whole system was funtioning fine before swapping the lid.
Both actuators exhibit the same behaviour.

Is there any way I can disable the alarm to regain the functionality of the door locks or is the system all tied together?

Argh this is frustrating.

update: alarm brain located [becker unit behind passenger footwell] and disconnected. found the OKI phone brain back there too. removed that. tested. everything functions as it was before, but no more flashy lights. stuff. well, that rules out the alarm system altogether.

who can tell me where to find the contol pump for the central locks?

The vacuum pump in your 190 should be under the back seat, right side....

thank you. found it yesterday. power cycled it as some other forums/posts have suggested but with no luck.

I think I must have shorted the system somehow and fried either a switch(es) or the pump's internal relaythingy. Sigh.
