I've got a '79 240D that could probably use some suspension help. I've got some clunking in the front end which I assume is bushings, and overall the car is just kind of loose.

I've been looking around but all I seem to find with google is a bunch of repairing the stock suspension.

I'm more interested in putting some upgraded suspension on the car, perhaps some coil overs or good "sport" shocks and lowering springs.

How difficult are the bushings to replace in the front end, and where's a good place to find some suspension parts? I've done the suspension all the way around on my MkIV Jetta, so unless it's more of a pain in the ass than that, I should be okay.

Depends on which bushings, but doing this to a 240? No need for coil overs, if you're going to lower with shorter springs.
