Both my sun visors are stuck in a position close to when they are folded up.

Not quite folded up, though. They are both hanging a bit.

I just wonder if there's a spring inside, or what other part could have broken in both visors.

I'd like them to be functioning so I can use them to put one of those silver sun screens into the front window.

Also, the visor on the driver's side is a little bit distracting when driving.

Check the little metal tabs in the hinge that turn the vanity light on.

Hi,I had same problem before and I move the visor toward the side window then move it upwards by little bid force and it went back to original position.Now working fine.

My mechanic said that there's something broken on the inside and they have to be replaced (which I won't do - I think they are quite expensive).

But I'll try your solution and see if it'll work.

Check the little metal tabs in the hinge that turn the vanity light on.

I can actually take it out of the hinge, no problem.

The problem is on the window side, that rod that comes out of the ceiling.

The visors are really locked in a position and cannot be moved at all.
