Hey guys, My custom dual intake is almost there, exhausts are on the way, and so are the 19 inch replica AMG 3 pieces in all black. Now, I can't seem to lock on a placement for the dual quad tips. Suggestions please....

Cheers

Hi,

I'd go with the middle picture!

My vote is for the third photo, it looks close to OE tip placement.

Regards

Isn't that location too predictable? Isn't that like a common placement?

Third seems like where it "should be", the middle is like "aaahhh, racy"

i like 2.. looks clean.

when i finish my exhaust setup, you guys will either hate it or love it. rest assured it will be one of a kind, though.. so what, everyone's wanting quads now? looks like i'm ahead of the trends :D

Same as everyone....

I'd go with #3.

#1 flattens the car and ruins the lines.

#2 does the opposite, it enhances the vertical lies and makes it look narrow and tall.

#3 is balanced.

Oh, and the Corvette location makes the car seem constipated. :D

3 is about the same place I'm aiming to have mine when it gets done early this coming week
2 looks good as well but, it will be tricky to do with the existing spare-wheel bulge where it is...unless you take the same route as 'Nur' and cut it out

Since you asked, here are my two suggestions. First, to make the design look balanced, the visual line created by the division between two tips in each pair should continue a vertical line created on the car; the three logical choices are the inner edge of the taillight assembly and either side of the reverse light lens. Placing the tips such that one of those lines bisects the tip cluster visually makes the look much cleaner. I have attached three photoshop renderings of exactly what I just referenced.

My second suggestion is to get different tips. Only since you asked, I think that those tips are too rounded and close together for an SEC, and make your otherwise excellent car look a little too STS for my liking.

Just my two cents - I think it will end up looking really good, as everything else you have done to it has worked so well!

Oh, and out of the three I just posted, I like the third!

1st is out too far, you would have trouble fitting it out that far considering where the side wells are located.
second looks out of place and damn near impossible considering where the spare tire well is.
3rd is the best bet. that's right about where I have mine. it's about as far out as you can go without problems. inside one more inch than me, would be reccomended. When I redesign mine, it will be 5.5" in from the edge. Mine is currently 4"

Good lord. Let's be adults here. If the design is unappealing to you based on criteria you can elaborate on, or even things that may seem intangible, by all means this is a thread asking for opinions - but this is simply crossing the line.
