Hi All:
1989 190E 2.6: I put gas in it (but not all they way, just nearly full) a week ago. Since then I have a strong gas smell inside the car and the fuel gauge "ticks" intermittently between the 3/4 and 1/2 full mark. The onset of these symptoms were sudden and immediate with the last fill-up last week and have never been present since I bought the car over a year ago. I checked around in the trunk area but saw nothing amiss and there is no fuel puddle under the car.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what it could be and where I could get information on fixing it?
