i put two tens in the trunk of my 05c230 along with a 1k watt amp. i have the h/k upgrade and it really added a nice punch to the sound. only problem is, now i've got to find a way to boost the power to the rest of the system so it can keep up with the base comin from my subs.

I have an Elemental Designs 12" mounted in a box in the back of my C230. It has a JL amp mounted on the box. I know the Remote wire and Ground are mounted in the back. I could take a look and see where the RCA's and Power wire is going to for ya if you want..

i dont know about the other countries, but in Australia we have a 9" sub woofer STANDARD on the parcel shelf in all C Classes. this is not part of an audio upgrade or anything. In all sales brochures is says the C class has a 6 speaker setup but if you turn your radio on and go and listen to your parcel shelf you might be pleasently surprised. there is really 7 speakers. its hidden underneath the fake speaker covers on the right hand side only. it can also be seen in the trunk if u stick your head in their and look up.

an interesting observation on 2000-2002 model cars one of the speaker covers has a latch and the medical kit is hidden in their. on the later model cars its mounted in the side of the trunk instead.

i have the upgrade Logic 7 12-speaker system, and it doesnt impress me at all---it sounds like the speakers are struggling for power, and i dont hear a good punch of bass, even witht he bass turned to the max----waste of money

How much effect does that speaker in the dash have? I mean, I know there's a grille there for a speaker, but I can never seem to hear much sound coming from it.

Also, does the stereo/command unit have a set of RCA "in's" anywhere, so someone could hook up an MP3 player or something to it?

I'm quite interested in knowing how to do this mod also. My H/K system is one of the weakest system I've heard. Whenever I turn up the volume with full bass, I hardly hear anything...yet the back begins to vibrate like crazy. It seems the speaker cover on top is too soft and begins to vibrate/rattle with high bass music. Any ideas of getting rid of this vibration? My old Bose system in my '95 Acura Legend is 10x better than this crappy H/K system.

It's actually really easy to add a sub, takes about 2 hours if you have all the parts, I have the 02 bose system, I don't know bout the new Hk system but should be quite simular.

No the stock HU does noth have aux inputs, but the command does have aux inputs though.

I can post pics of my completed products but I don't have any of my install.

Please post your pics and instructions on how you did it. I'm sure it can be done with the H/K system also. [:)]
